Poem by Salma Kreiser / Photography by Jael Falta
Fear has taught you
To hide in the shadows.
Too scared to risk
Being burned, being exposed.
Fear holds you down,
Restrained by your insecurity.
And holds you back,
Crippled by uncertainty.
But with light there is release.
Putting your pride on the line
In order to let yourself be seen.
Trust calls you out from the shadows
And even in the mess
Shows the beauty of your true identity.
Trust calls out your doubts
And replaces them with peace
In the middle of your uncertainty.
Fear protects,
Trust risks,
With a radiant grace
That covers your mistakes.
Fear doesn’t have a hold
When you have a hope
That pushes you to trust
Even in the unknown.
