Notes of Denmark

Updated: Jul 10, 2018

When I think about Denmark, I think of colorful flats squashed up against each other and people cozied up in blankets while sipping good coffee. I see statues and walks along the waterfront, museums with long lines and bikes racing up and down the streets. Everything about Denmark is cold and clean like steel but still brings you this sense of awe and comfort.

And in the middle of it all is a palace made entirely out of glass. From far away, it looks like it’s made up of dazzling emeralds but it’s only when you’re walking through the front doors do you realize what it really is. A botanical paradise.

The humid air fogs up my camera lens so that I have to wipe it before taking a picture every time and suddenly I feel like I’m in the middle of some sort of dense and clouded jungle. Two white staircases spiral up towards the ceiling where you can an entirely different view of the place where you seem to almost be floating above the trees.

People take pictures of plants and each other, some sketch the flowers and some are even writing poetry. I wouldn’t blame them, the place is beautiful beyond compare. I’d happily live there if I could. I really would.
